Poppy Creek Stewardship

At our January 18, 2007, Membership Meeting, LandPaths talked to us about the Poppy Creek Stewardship Program – part of their IOOBY (In Our Own Backyard) free educational program. They take children out 4 times per year to an adopted Open Space District property and to stewardship (for Steele Ln. they do their stewardship at Poppy Creek). Stewardship at Poppy Creek has been going since 2004. Otters and red-shouldered hawk sightings prove the importance of this habitat. March 7 is the next stewardship date for our neighborhood to be involved. Volunteer base would be great to water during the summer and do other maintenance.
