The North JC Neighborhood Association is located in Santa Rosa, CA, and is bounded by Mendocino Avenue to the East, Hwy 101 to the west, Elliot Drive to the South and Paulin Creek to the South. It draws its name from the Santa Rosa Junior College directly to the south of the neighborhood. The college is one of the strongest in the California JC system and has a beautiful campus with towering oak trees.
The neighborhood is a mix of older residents, some here since the 1950s when many of the houses were built, and younger families with small children who are moving in over time. Steele Lane Elementary school is a central hub of the neighborhood as is the adjacent Steele Lane Community Center run by the SR Recreation and Parks Department.
The neighborhood boasts a mix of local and national retail and restaurants, easy access to Hwy 101, and the well hidden Steele Lane Park, also known as Poppy Creek Park to the locals. The County Administrative Center lies just to the north of the neighborhood and Sutter Hospital and Kaiser are a short drive. We are a couple of miles north of Downtown Santa Rosa.
